I have a complaint. I don't believe it's legal

Hi there. First Premier Credit card is unwilling to close my account. They say they cannot close my account and I will continue to accrue fees until my balance is paid off. I want it closed so it is no longer accessible to me. Right now, I am making the payments that I can, as I have had financial struggles these past 2 years due to death in the family. I want it closed and I will continue to make the payment. I don't believe it's legal when a customer requests their account closed, to make it inaccessible to them, that you tell them you can't and won't.

Before you close that account with a balance on it, perhaps a little research is in order. You don't want to do that unless of course, you think by doing so they can't get their money from you. Don't do it, Davy...

Closed my account even though i spoke to them and made my payments

I had some payments returned due to my main income is from Florida and we were caught up in hurricanes issues so could not open my business so no deposits etc so, I called and spoke to customer service and they informed me they couldn't stop my payment from going through and returning but I should schedule another payment and they would note the accounts (two accounts) so I did what I was told to do and I explained to the customer service rep I wasn't for sure about when the money would be in the account and I was told this was the way to handle it etc! so I tried to cancel the 2nt time could not get into the web site and when I did I could not get to the edit payments etc the site was having major issues I contacted them let them know what was happening on the site was told to call in and I did !

so anyway I ended up making the payments on the site by western union thought everything was fine now today after a couple weeks im told they closed my account due to the returned payments !!!

and I explained what happened as was told it didn't matter that those returns cost them money and they decided to close the accounts and would not open them back up did not care how I have always made my payments before this did not care I was a good customer and have no one who will speak to a customer to help them when this happens and was told the customers who lived in places where the hurricanes hit were helped with missed payments but, I should have had returned payments even though I was following what I was told by them ! i am hurt and confused and after being spoken to like a dog pissed !

I paid off both of my accounts with them and sent them letters telling them to close my accounts and now they are charging me 7.00 after I paid them off

A Class Action Suit Is In Order

They have lied about my payments, I can NEVER get on line to access my account so I end up mailing it, they say they don't receive them... take me over my limit and double charge.

I'm filing a complaint with the attorney generals office in South Dakota and I suggest everyone else do the same... I hope an attorney picks up on this and puts a class action suite against them together. This is credit lending fraud and they need to be held accountable.

I'll pay off this account but I'm going after them. Predatory lenders like this should have their owners spend some jail time.

Same here! Can't ever log in so have no idea whats going on.

It is literally the only company I have problems with. They are total crooks and should not be in business!

Why are companies like this legal? They can take as much money as they like from you and give you BS excuses why they took it, and it's ok???

I'm a geek not a confused user. it's like they want you to fail.

Payments by phone with a checking account say it can take up to 20 days to clear! I opened the account and paid several hundred dollars in fees so i can begin to repair my credit but i think i need to close it because if they are making it harder i will eventually slip.

By far,the worst credit card issuer I know of! They need to be shut down!! You were better off taking that money you paid them,& getting a secure credit card at a local bank.

Called me at work to schedule payment that's due tomorrow

10/24/17 - cell phone called around 3:20 p.m. ID said "Unavailable" so I didn't answer. No voicemail left. Immediately afterward, my WORK number rang! So-and-so said they were calling from First Premier, my payment is due tomorrow and would I like to schedule a payment through my checking account? Um, no way! I told her I would take care of it and to never call me at work again. She replied with, "Well, this is a number you gave us that was safe to call you, but we'll remove it." I don't remember if I've missed a payment or not, but calling me the day before a payment is due - at work - makes me not want to pay them at all! I can't wait to get these jerks paid off and never deal with them again!

the worst card I ever have. everytime I go to the website to check my credit card balance I has to change my password, then I had to call to do so. that suck, wish I never got it this card. I change my password already like 15 times!!! the website don't have email or chat to to resolve the problem, you has to call and wait for customer service, they give you a code to reset your password and most all the time don't work. the reset password on the side don't work either. the soon I can paid off this card I'm out!!!

First Premier Bank Card called today on a SUNDAY after we have been devastated by Hurricane Irma in florida asking me for a payment!! I lost power for a week, all my food and had flood damage. I advised the rep that Capitol One offered help by giving me a credit due to Hurricane Irma. This rep Alexa then said "If you make a payment, then we can give you a credi"...What!!! are you serious??? I asked for a supervisor who got on the call just to say "We will remove you from our calling list"...Huh?? No sympathetic comment like "Im very sorry about the devastation Hurricane Irma caused...nothing!! They were very unsympathetic and emotionless. This is unacceptable, whatever you do stay away from this card!! These people are heartless!!

Why give out limits if the card is halved by the time you get it

So I applied, got approved. My exact statement when I first received my card was this: Limit: $500 Available Credit: $363 Fees: $137 and some change First Payment due immediately: $30.00 This isn't even including the $99 fee you have to pay before you can even use your card. Let's just say, sure it's great for bad credit--not really because your credit will be reported as utilized when you haven't utilized it. I will definitely not be using this credit card and the card itself will be shredded. Even my husband was questioning the point of the card if it does nothing to truly help you.

Why is it the government let these credit card companies like First Premier to do what they do best and that they disrespect consumers big time and we should put up with it...Guess what that not going to happen I've talk to more than one news reporter and five government Official can to Attorneys etc etc....Maybe I will get a phone call from the CEO lol.
